As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, Joshua 24:15

A home is the seed from which the plant of life grows and branches out into relationships, children and happy memories.

A house whose walls are joined by trust, smothered with love and sealed by the promise to always care for each other needs no other decoration.

Knowing that you have a beautiful home to go back to, makes the busiest of days at work seem effortless.

The difference between renting and buying is the difference between a house and a home.

Home is a word that symbolizes love, trust, progress, memories and relationships.

The walls of a rented place make you feel safe while the walls of your own home make you feel secure.

A home is where you can be yourself and live out all your idiosyncrasies without being judged.

Every brick and piece of plywood represents every moment of struggle and hard work in one's life it took to build a new home.

A home is the only place where the heart, mind, body and soul can all find peace.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord, Joshua 24:15

Tis The Season....to be Merry and Bright....Bainbridge Circle

Bainbridge Circle, Murrieta CA

Bainbridge Circle, Murrieta, CA - Christmas Lights - YouTube

By Dan Baldwin, Editor

Check Out an Amazing Musical Christmas Light Show on Bainbridge Circle in Murrieta, It Rivals Disneyland!

A couple nights before Christmas Nancy says, "Hey, the neighbors invited us to this cool holiday light display down in Murrieta, lets go!"
Trying to be a good husband I say (to myself), "OK, how bad could this be?"
Well the traffic trying to get to Bainbridge Circle in Murrieta was pretty insane.
If you want to do this yourself do what we did, park a couple blocks away and then walk in.
Anyway, I was expecting something kinda cheesy like you see in the movies but I was totally amazed. It was like something you'd see in Disneyland. Hard to believe it's all put on by volunteer neighbors every year between Thanksgiving and New years.
To all you Bainbridge Circle neighbors that put this on, "Thank you very much!"

At Bainbridge Falls, located at Bainbridge Circle in Murrieta, visitors are asked to tune their radios to 88.5FM where the Christmas tunes are synchronized to the animated light displays.

Gordon Macpherson and his wife Kathie’s amazing light display located at 29814 Marhill Circle in Temecula won second place in the City of Temecula’s Christmas Light Contest for the Griswold style category. Since 1989, the Macpherson’s have been showing off their great display for the community. Hand cut, carved, and painted decorations cover their entire home. A glass display of Santa’s workshop and an estimated 25,000 lights make this masterpiece unique. Regarding the visitors who come to see his display, Gordon Macpherson says, “Just seeing people’s smiling faces makes it all worth while.” Visitors are welcome in the backyard where more decorations can be seen. The Macpherson’s neighbors also join in on the decorating. Visitors who come by will see a group of Christmas trees in the backyard that were decorated by their neighbors and named by those who did the decorating during a holiday get-together at their home. From now through Christmas, families are encouraged to drop by and see this display where Santa may be present to greet visitors.

HOME PRICES: Fast-pitch in prices begins wind-down

HOME PRICES: Fast-pitch in prices begins wind-down

The fast pitch on home prices that was thrown for most of the year is winding down, a new report from the real estate reporting service CoreLogic found.
The October report by the Irvine-based firm says prices on all homes — including distressed property — rose by two-tenths of 1 percent in October from the month before, with year-to-year prices making a gain of 12.5 percent. That has the chief economist Mark Fleming projecting that November prices will flatten out.
Fleming is expecting about an 11 percent gain in home price from November 2012.
“House price appreciation has slowed, as expected for the winter,” Fleming said Tuesday, Dec. 3. “The slowdown in price appreciation is positive for the housing market, as almost half the states are now within 10 percent of their respective historical price peaks.”
Anand Nallathambi, chief executive of CoreLogic, said the deceleration in prices on a month-on-month basis was expected because the pricing gains were particularly strong in the spring and summer. The moderation is also indicative of normal seasonal patterns, and the impact higher mortgage interest rates have had on consumers, he said.housing prices
How did the Inland region fare in September, compared to the nation as a whole?
The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario region’s had the highest home price appreciation among its metropolitan counterparts, posting a 24.1 percent jump in price on all homes, including properties in distress. That’s a bigger percentage jump than the state of California, measuring a 22.4 percent gain in prices from October 2012.
Coming in second on the price appreciation scale was Los Angeles-Long Beach, posting a 22.1 percent increase from October 2012.

Staging Tips for Selling During the Holidays

Staging your home for the Holidays....

It’s the time of year that calendars are packed with holiday parties, budgets are strained by gift-giving and the roads are covered in freshly fallen snow. Alas, 'tis not the season for real estate. But the good news is that the few brave house-hunters who do venture out are serious about buying a house and stylish trimmings will make them want to ring in the new year in your home.

“Holidays can be personal on a lot of levels, but you want to make sure your decor is neutral,” advises Amy Powers, owner of Accent Home Staging & Interiors of Atlanta. “You want to romance your buyer, not invite them to your Christmas party.”
Try these tips to get buyers in the right spirit:
  • Clean and stage. “Before you decorate, your house needs to be staged,” Powers says. If your living room is already piled high with clutter and tchotchkes, your ceramic reindeer collection is only going to add to the sense of overcrowding.
  • Create a cozy vibe. The less-is-more mantra of home staging may tempt you to forgo holiday cheer this year. But a few subtle touches like a bowl of pinecones, an evergreen wreath, or a pot of cider simmering on the stove can create a warm and festive feeling in your home.
  • Complement your palette. Before you start untangling your tinsel, make sure your holiday collection matches your current decor. If your living room is painted a soothing ocean-blue hue, skip the clashing red garland and opt for white snowflakes or a silver glass-ball wreath. If you’ve got an earthy color scheme, accent with rich tones like cranberries, forest greens and gold.
  • Accentuate the positive. Too many trimmings may distract buyers, but the right accessories can draw attention to your home’s best features. Dangle mistletoe in an arched doorway, or display your menorah on the ledge of a bay window; just don’t block a beautiful view with stick-on snowflake decals or clutter an elegant fireplace with personalized stockings.
  • Go light on lights. Step away from the inflatable snowman, Clark Griswold. One man’s “merry” is another man’s “tacky,” so tone down any garish light displays while your home is on the market. (No, your neighbors didn’t pay us to say that.) Instead, use simple string lighting to play up your home’s architecture or draw attention to the gorgeous fir tree in your front yard.
  • Be an equal-opportunity decorator. Leave the life-sized Nativity scene in storage this year, because overtly religious flourishes may be off-putting to some buyers. “You want to keep neutrality throughout, so you can attract any type of buyer,” Powers says. Not sure what qualifies? Powers adds, “No matter what your religion is, you’re not going to feel offended by a nutcracker.”
  • Mind the tree. A tall Christmas tree can help you show off your two-story great room, but make sure the wide base won’t overwhelm the floor space. If your living area is on the small side, save space with a skinny tree. Swap the gaudy heirloom ornaments and trim your tree in a cohesive theme such as icicle lights and silver tinsel, for example, or blue and gold glass balls.
  • Clear the clutter. A few decorations can stir the holiday spirit, but don’t feel obliged to hang every last ornament. “A lot of people, when they decorate, tend to use all the extra space in their house,” Powers says. “You still want each space to look as spacious as possible.” Limit yourself to a few hints of holiday flair, but stash the rest in the basement for now. If you start to miss your Santa figurines, just remember that with a little luck, you’ll be celebrating next year’s holidays in a new home. And you can decorate that place any way you please.
