November 2 @ 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Building for America’s Bravest Program Benefit Concert for Catastrophically Injured Veterans featuring Gary Sinise’s Lt. Dan Band
Presented by the Gary Sinise Foundation and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation
The “Building For America’s Bravest” Program, a joint project established in 2011 by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers and the Gary Sinise Foundation to assist America’s most seriously wounded veterans, will award Temecula the “Community Patriotism Award” for its outstanding support for veterans and their families at the benefit concert on November 2, 2013.
The City of Temecula will be honored for their broad commitment to and involvement with wounded veterans during a presentation to Mayor Michael S. Naggar at the Gary Sinise and The Lt. Dan Band benefit concert at 7pm on SAT, NOV 2, 2013 at Town Square Park. Proceeds will go to building additional “Smart Homes” for severely wounded veterans similar to the one for USMC Corporal Juan Dominguez and his family that was completed here last year. Juan is a triple amputee from wounds suffered in Afghanistan. The concert was originally planned to benefit the construction of a “smart home” for Army Staff Sergeant Matt Lammers but his circumstances have changed and that project has been put on hold pending a decision on location of his new home.
“The support that Juan and his family have received from this community is the model of what the Building for America’s Bravest Program has set out to do,” said Gary Sinise. “It’s so much more than coming in, building the home, and leaving. Community support and acceptance of these brave heroes is vital to their reclaiming their lives after serious and debilitating injuries. Temecula has done that for Juan and America and our Foundations are grateful.”
Chairman Frank Siller of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation added, “When Gary’s foundation and ours partnered on our ‘Building for America’s Bravest’ Program two years ago, we knew we would meet wonderful people who could support members of our military who have sacrificed so much for us. The people of Temecula have set the standard for how communities across America can embrace and connect to our most seriously wounded military heroes.”
On November 2nd, Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will once again take center stage and hold a benefit concert on the steps of Temecula’s Civic Center to assist in raising funds in building this “smart home” for one of America’s Bravest.
